Introduction referral fees
When a customer asks Cool Bedroom for an introduction to a suitable supply-and-install business, Cool Bedroom may receive a referral fee if that introduction results in a completed sale.
The referral fee is normally paid by the independent supply-and-install business. Customers are not currently charged a separate fee by Cool Bedroom for using the Finder, reading our guidance or requesting an introduction.
The amount and structure of a referral fee may vary between businesses, cooling routes and commercial agreements. Referral-fee amounts are agreed between Cool Bedroom and the relevant business and are not normally published on the website.
Where an introduction may generate a referral fee, we will aim to make that commercial relationship clear within the relevant customer journey or introduction process.
Submitting an introduction request does not oblige a customer to accept a quotation, purchase a product or proceed with an installation.
Affiliate and tracked links
Some links on the Cool Bedroom website may be affiliate or otherwise tracked links. If you click one of these links and make a qualifying purchase, Cool Bedroom may receive a commission from the retailer, supplier or affiliate network.
An affiliate arrangement does not create a separate charge from Cool Bedroom. The retailer or supplier remains responsible for its own product price, delivery, returns, guarantees, warranties and customer service.
Where particular content or links form part of an affiliate advertising arrangement, we will make the commercial nature clear before or at the point where the customer engages with the relevant content or link.
Labels may include wording such as “Ad”, “Ad – affiliate link” or another clear explanation that Cool Bedroom may receive commission.
A general disclosure on this page does not prevent us from also placing a shorter disclosure on or near relevant affiliate content.
How our recommendations are made
The Cool Bedroom Finder is designed to identify a cooling route based on the answers supplied by the customer and practical factors such as property permissions, wall suitability, outdoor-unit requirements, venting, noise, cooling needs and budget priorities.
The Finder’s initial cooling-route recommendation is not determined by which cooling option, retailer, supplier or installer pays the highest referral fee or commission.
When reviewing an introduction request, Cool Bedroom considers matters such as:
- the cooling route indicated by the customer’s circumstances;
- the property postcode and business coverage area;
- whether the business supplies and installs the relevant type of system;
- the information and requirements provided by the customer;
- the apparent suitability and availability of the business; and
- any proportionate business-credential checks completed by Cool Bedroom.
A commercial relationship may exist with an introduced business, but Cool Bedroom will not knowingly present an unsuitable cooling route as suitable merely because a fee may be earned.
Partner availability and market coverage
Cool Bedroom does not currently compare or work with every retailer, supplier, manufacturer or installer operating in the UK market.
Our ability to offer an introduction may depend on whether we have a potentially suitable participating business covering the customer’s postcode and cooling route.
Partner availability may therefore affect which particular business we can offer to introduce. It is not intended to determine the cooling route produced by the Cool Bedroom Finder.
The absence of a business or product from the website does not necessarily mean that it is unsuitable. Inclusion on the website or availability through an introduction does not guarantee that a business, product or installation will be suitable for every property or customer.
Independent third-party businesses
Retailers, suppliers and supply-and-install businesses mentioned, linked to or introduced by Cool Bedroom are normally independent third parties.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Cool Bedroom does not sell their products, provide their quotations, carry out installations or control their pricing, availability, workmanship, warranties or aftercare.
If a customer purchases a product or installation, the contract will normally be directly between the customer and the relevant retailer, supplier or supply-and-install business.
Cool Bedroom is not normally a party to that contract and does not normally collect the purchase or installation payment.
Customers should review quotations, product information, credentials, insurance, warranties and contract terms before making a purchase or appointing a business.
Prices and customer charges
Retailers, suppliers and installers set their own prices. Cool Bedroom does not guarantee that a linked or introduced option will be the cheapest available.
Customers should confirm the full product or installed price directly with the relevant business before entering into a contract.
Cool Bedroom does not currently charge customers a separate fee for using the Finder, reading the website guidance, requesting an introduction or joining the coverage waiting list.
We will update our website information if Cool Bedroom introduces any direct customer charge in the future.
Free products, discounts and sponsored content
If Cool Bedroom receives a free product, discount, payment, sponsorship or other benefit connected with particular website or social-media content, we will disclose that relationship clearly where the relevant content appears.
Where content is advertising, we will use a clear advertising label such as “Ad” or another label that makes the commercial nature obvious.
Changes to this disclosure
Cool Bedroom’s commercial relationships may change as the business develops. We may update this disclosure when new referral, affiliate, supplier, retailer or sponsorship arrangements are introduced.
